Your counter clockwise lap around Glebe Gardens Launceston starts with walking past the 10m tall steel Eiffel Tower statue. This statue was constructed in 2015 and clearly pays homage to the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. Moving forward, we have lush lawns with a Veggie Garden to the left and Frog Pond to the right. You will also notice some private areas where there is a cabin and a tiny home that may have guests staying from time to time.
The main lawn area is where we have hosted many events over the years at Glebe Gardens Launceston.
The Birch Forest features over 150 imported Birch Trees and a path to weave your way through whilst enjoying your stroll. For an added bit of serenity, you're able to take a seat and enjoy the peace and quite of this area.
As you move around the garden, you'll see our Yin & Yang area on the way to the Japanese Garden. After leaving the Japanese Garden, the Golden Chain Tree isn't far away. The Golden Chain Tree flowers in the second week of November creating an amazing visual appeal, there is also a great scent and it is very popular with bees.
Our Japanese Garden is one of the highlights of your walk. Featuring a large pond that you can walk right around, it is home to various wildlife and contains a 2 tonne hand carved Buddha statue.
After completing the full lap, you can stroll through the Nursery and view our range of plants including established trees. Our Gift Shop contains a large range of unique garden and homeware items that have been hand selected from all over the world to bring something truly unique to your home. Finally, the Cafe is a great place to sit and enjoy lunch or a coffee whilst overlooking the Fernery.
